Command & Conquer: Generals – Zero Hour – a computer game in the genre of the RTS , the continuation of the Command & Conquer: Generals. Due to the large number of innovations, battle management has changed significantly. Zero Hour is considered to be one of the best games in the C & C series, focusing on tactics and strategy.
Command & Conquer: Generals – Zero Hour Trailer
Formally, the game belongs to the classic RTS. It has such compulsory actions as collecting resources, building a base, accumulating an army before an attack, etc. However, in some cases the game resembles “Ground Control II: Operation Exodus” – battles can be fought not by many thousands of armies, but by small, compact universal units, which, with proper management, as well as timely support (aircraft, artillery, etc.), are able to win the battle against an enemy with much more serious forces. On the other hand, there are no restrictions on the development of the base and the number of units in Generals, therefore it is sometimes easier and faster to create an army of heavy armored vehicles that will allow the enemy to end with one powerful blow.
As in most strategies, in the game there are separate campaigns with their own storyline and single cards for battles with computer or live opponents. Possible to play through a local network or via the Internet on the official game server. Under certain conditions, the player can earn medals. Some of them are obtained fairly quickly (for example: a tankman’s medal can be obtained by building 50 or more tanks), while others must be earned long and hard (for example: the last medal is awarded for winning all maps on the maximum difficulty level with the maximum number of opponents). Medals have no use, just decoration.
The economic component in the game is simplified to the limit. In the game there is only one type of resources – some universal “Supplies” (Supplies), which are transported from warehouses by special units to the collection center, where they are converted into money ($). At the same time, only one unit can take supplies from the warehouse, the rest will stand in line. MAO workers have the opportunity to collect resources without waiting in line and without interfering with each other. You can also get money by capturing oil-producing towers.
For the construction of buildings, a special unit is used (a construction bulldozer from the USA and China, slaves to terrorists), which has a rather low speed of movement, has no weapons and is distinguished by a small health reserve. At the same time, the same slaves of terrorists are capable of collecting resources from supply docks, like special units of other factions. Buildings can be erected at any point on the map (as in RTS from Blizzard), while in previous C & C games, buildings are usually erected only in close proximity to each other. The US and China need electricity to operate defenses and super weapons. At MAO, energy accelerates the process of building and training units, but is not necessary (moreover, they have no power stations at all – this can be done only by capturing an enemy bulldozer).
Army And Battle
Production of new units and infantry training is carried out fairly quickly, and each building has its own production line, that is, with a large amount of money and several production buildings, you can quickly accumulate a large army. Conventionally, all troops can be divided into light armored vehicles (jeeps, armored personnel carriers, light tanks), heavy armored vehicles (medium and heavy tanks, self-propelled guns), aircraft (airplanes, helicopters) and infantry (machine gunners and rocket launchers), but each has its own therefore, there are no “Medium” units that are accessible to all three parties. One of the most important features of the game is the ability of all types of infantry to occupy civilian buildings, receiving a significant increase in damage and firing range.
