Assassin’s Creed: Revelations Trailer
The use of the Animus and the events in the chamber below the Colosseum Overloaded Desmond Miles’ brain and put him into a coma, causing his real and genetic memories to mingle. This would mean that Desmond, like his predecessor, subject 16, would suffer irreparable mental damage with loss of reality and schizophrenia. In order to prevent this, he is brought back into the Animus by the remaining team members and his father, William Miles, and there promoted to the old test routine, which represents a test phase from the development of the Animus. This has the side effect of preventing Desmond’s mind from collapsing, giving him time to find a solution. Inside the test routine he encounters subject 16 alias Clay Kaczmarek, who had created an artificial image of himself in the Animus shortly before his suicide, and who also got into the Animus 2.0 via the stolen memory core. Kaczmarek explains to Desmond that there is still a way for him to awaken from the coma without any permanent damage: he has to experience all the memories of Ezio and partly Altaïr in order to find a so-called synch node. At this point, the Animus can separate Desmond’s mind and memories of Ezio and Altaïr, thus awakening him from coma.
The reminder begins with the now 52-year-old Ezio Auditore da Firenze, the protagonist of Assassin’s Creed II and Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood , who faces the question of what is still to come and what his destination is after his previous goal in life , the fight against the Borgia family, is met. To get answers, he makes his way to Masyaf , the former fortress of the Assassins . However, this is now by Templarssearched. Ezio manages to kill the captain of the group. Shortly before his death, he tells of one of five keys needed to open the door to the underground library of the fortress. The Templars found this one key during excavations under the Topkapi Palace in Constantinople.
Each key found contains a reminder of Altaïr. These all refer to a conflict with an Assassin’s brother, Abbas, who feels a profound hatred for Altaïr and tries to seize power over the Order. After gaining power, Abbas wants to use the Eden apple to kill all people who do not do what he says. In doing so, he actually causes his destruction. Altaïr fights against Abbas and finally succeeds in eliminating it with the help of the first operational (Abbas had the second) pistol. He hides the Eden apple in the underground library of Masyaf, locks himself in and finds his last rest there.
After finding and picking up so-called Animus data fragments in the game world , playable sequences are gradually unlocked, informing the player about the past of Desmond. In the process, he is steered in an ego perspective through an abstract world that is always connected with the narrative. Desmond himself remembers his past from his childhood, influenced by his parents’ training to become an assassin, to his break from this life, to life as a bartender in New York City, to the capture by the Templars to Warren Vidic, which also forms the transition to the first part of the series. To overcome obstacles, the player has the opportunity to place rectangular or oblique blocks. When the player has completed all of Desmond’s memories, he can have Desmond’s figure taken over by Ezio in the Inventory menu in the course of the game.
The lost archive
The Downloadable Content The Lost Archive was released on February 28, 2012. He takes up the gameplay of Desmond’s journey and in the same way tells the story of subject 16 through an off-speaker, while the player has to overcome obstacles in an abstract world by placing blocks. The special feature here is that it is an endless loop that can only be broken through the collection of so-called “decryption fragments”. The story of subject 16 is about events in his life such as his childhood, joining the assassins, the break-in in Abstergo or his suicide.
