Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry Trailer
Freedom Cry is set twenty years after the events of Black Flag and follows Adewale on his mission as an assassin.
Adewale tried to intercept the Templars in the West Indian Sea, and was destroyed off the coast of Haiti. On the way to Port-au-Prince, he notes that the Templars are working with Bastien Joseph, the owner of a local brothel and sympathetic Maroons, a faction of freedom fighters made up of liberated slaves led by Augustine Diufort. Despite his commitment to the Assassin Brotherhood, Adewale sympathizes with her cause and joins the Maroons to seize the ship Experto Crede to disrupt the slave trade.
Adewale works for Bastien and begins to reveal the conspiracy in the French government Port-au-Prince. Local Governor Pierre de Faye is planning a secret scientific expedition to measure the curvature of the Earth and collect the geographic data they want to sell to the highest bidder, with the promise of superiority at sea. Adewale successfully sabotages the expedition and replaces the illiterates employed by the expedition with educated members of the Maroons.
Tensions arise in the Maroons as Adewale prepares for further raids on the slave trade. Bastienne refuses, because de Faye only punishes those who are punished as a slave. Adewale ignores her, but is horrified as he watches a frigate fire on an unarmed slave ship to prevent slaves from joining the Maroons. Adéwalé boarded the slave ship and was able to save several slaves from drowning before the ship rolled over with the rest. He plans revenge, but Bastienne warns that revenge will weaken the Maroons; If Adewale de Faye was to kill, he should do it and act as an agent of justice. After Adewale attacked the governor’s mansion, harassed him in the city and fought the local garrison, De Faye finally bombarded and killed, claiming that the slaves were incapable of governing themselves. Adewale points out that none of the slaves or guards came to his aid and instead allowed him to die. Following the De Faye murder, Adewaleh returns to say goodbye to Bastien before returning to the Order of Assassins, but pledges to use his newfound faith to help people who are oppressed and not their potential cause Liberator.
